When should I apply?
We start hiring in mid November. Please follow our social media channels, and the Manitoba Camping Association job board for updates when jobs become available.
How long is the camp season?
Our outdoor education season runs May 21 -June 23 and our regular Camp season runs June 24 - August 22.
How much will I get paid?
BB Camp offers competitive salaries paid on a bi-weekly basis. Your salary will depend on your position and experience. Bear in mind that Camp will provide room and board, and with the exception of what you spend on days off, you have virtually no expenses while at Camp.
How often are days off?
We do our best to ensure staff receive at least one day off every two weeks in addition to daily time off, and days off on site. At a bare minimum, staff receive one day off during first session, two days off during second session, and two days off during intersession.
How old are most of the staff?
Most staff at Camp are between 18 and 25. Most counsellors and specialists are entering their first year or two of University or College and the average age is about 19.
Where do most staff come from?
Most of our staff are from Winnipeg, although we hire staff from across Canada, the USA, Mexico, Israel, Europe, Australia and around the world.
Do staff live with campers?
Cabin counsellors live with the campers in a separate staff quarters within the cabin. All activity staff, Outtrippers, Section Head staff and support staff (operations, food services, depot, secretarial, etc.) live in staff cabins.
