BB Camp also offers two leadership based programs for our high school students during its regular camp season:

Advanced Camp (AC)

AC is a four week wilderness canoe trip that focuses on team work, social development and physical endurance using a blend of challenging routes, wilderness skills and leadership training. Each trip consists of 8 - 10 participants and supported by two outtrippers. (trips are gender specific). Each trip is assigned a specific route that typically covers over 350 miles and between 40 - 50 portages through portions of Lake of the Woods and remote lake areas known as the "back lakes".

On the 28th day, the trip culminates at Homecoming with family members and friends invited out to BB Camp to witness the return of the canoe trips. Each trip presents their "AC paddle" to the Camp and a banquet lunch is held to celebrate the return of our 15 year old campers.

Leadership Training Program (LTP)

A six week program that encourages our 16 year old participants to strengthen leadership skills through two main components - a two and half week co-ed canoe trip refining and learning how to teach wilderness skills and a three and half week onsite program that incorporates experience-based activities, workshops, social action projects, group oriented activities and discussions and practical training working with campers, mentoring with other camp staff in specialty areas and working in operation areas (kitchen and maintenance). Participants will leave LTP with a better understanding of their leadership and counselling skills.
